Join me in the investigation of preparing to be ready (in process of blooming) using emergent improvisation and letting the body tell the story - Park Dancing from home! We will move from our floor or chair or from wherever feels comfortable on that day.
Last year's Blooms gave such positive reviews! I'm excited to offer a reprise of this online program. We'll meet each other from where we are, from near and far!
NATURAL MOVEMENT AND VOICE EXPLORATION
ONE-ON-ONE AND SMALL GROUP SESSIONS
This work is focused on creating time and a safe space for people to discover their own movement qualities, pace and rhythms, and voice engagement - singing and speaking. Through improvisation and new methods, students will gain knowledge about their inherent instrument, which can be applied in theater, music, social settings, public speaking, and being human!
In-person sessions are NOW being scheduled with COVID-safety guidelines in place. Email Alana to get started.

EMERGENT DANCE: TUNING INTO COLLECTIVE EFFERVESCENCE
STAR ARTS RETREAT, JUNE 2022
STAR ISLAND, ISLE OF SHOALS, NH
Alana was invited to lead a week-long workshop on Star Island in 2020. Due to COVID-19, the program was held virtually June 2021. She is thrilled to be invited once again 'on island' in 2022!
In this workshop, we will become familiar with our dancing selves as individuals, within a group, and in a broader context as art makers of the world. Using the Park Dancing format, we will awaken our sense of play and TUNE IN to our somatic senses, and make a "dance that matters." ~Anna Halprin
